Oxford Semantic Technologies launches RDFox Mantix to speed up the development of trusted AI built on human expertise
OXFORD, UK – 29 September 2026 - Oxford Semantic Technologies today announced the launch of RDFox Mantix, a visual collaborative companion to RDFox, its high-performance knowledge graph and reasoning engine.
Designed to make RDFox’s powerful capabilities accessible for more people to use, Mantix helps domain experts, technical teams and semantic specialists work together to build knowledge-based AI systems.
Generative AI has made it easier than ever to interact with information using natural language, but many business applications require the answers AI generates to be grounded in an organisation’s own data, definitions, rules and expertise.
Knowledge-based AI does just that, allowing companies to get all the benefits of LLMs, but with answers that are reliable, controllable and auditable.
A shared visual environment for direct collaboration
Building knowledge-based applications requires different kinds of expertise – from domain knowledge and technical skills to specialist semantic expertise. Bringing those skills together effectively can take time and create bottlenecks.
RDFox Mantix bridges this gap by providing a shared visual environment where domain experts, technical teams and semantic specialists can now collaborate directly to build knowledge graphs much more quickly.
A generative-AI interface also translates natural language questions into queries RDFox can process. The LLM helps express the question; the answer comes from RDFox, grounded in the organisation's data, semantics and explicitly captured business logic.
Key features include:
Peter Crocker, CEO of Oxford Semantic Technologies said:
“Organisations have enormous amounts of valuable knowledge - not just in their data and systems, but in the expertise of their people. RDFox already gives organisations a powerful way to put that knowledge to work through AI. With Mantix, we're making those capabilities easier for more people to access and use, helping domain experts, technical teams and semantic specialists work together more effectively and accelerate the path from idea to business value."
RDFox Mantix is available immediately as an add-on companion for new and existing RDFox customers.

About Oxford Semantic Technologies Ltd.
Oxford Semantic Technologies (OST) is a spin out of the University of Oxford’s computer science department that was acquired by Samsung in 2024. Founded by leaders in the field of knowledge-based AI, OST’s AI software RDFox® enables highly complex questions in autonomous decision systems to be answered precisely and instantly. By combining organisational data with explicitly represented knowledge and reasoning, RDFox enables accurate, explainable answers grounded in knowledge and logic organisations can inspect and control. The team behind Oxford Semantic Technologies started working on RDFox in 2011 at the Computer Science Department of the University of Oxford with the conviction that flexible and high-performance reasoning was a possibility for data-intensive applications without jeopardising the correctness of the results. RDFox is the first market-ready knowledge graph designed from the ground up with reasoning in mind. Oxford Semantic Technologies is a spin-out of the University of Oxford and is backed by leading investors including Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), Oxford Sciences Enterprises (OSE) and Oxford University Innovation (OUI).
